Reset!: Blackout - Chapter One: Blackout )
randomality: (impulse headwall)
I'm running around City of Heroes with my lowbie Emp/Dark Defender alt and team up with a lowbie tanker. "Great!" I think to myself, "This will make missions faster!" So, off we go to kick some ass and look good doing it. Shortly into the first mission, the tanker tells me to just heal him and let him do the damage. Grumbling, I comply for a bit. After all, I needed to conserve energy on my alt. So, she becomes a healbot. Let me say this: BORING. I try to explain to mighty tank that my Dark blasts have a -to hit debuff on them, making it harder for the baddies to hit him. "But my attacks are stronger," he tells me. I facepalm. After a while, he gets overwhelmed by a mob and starts asking for help other than healing. I gladly start indulging in my blaster instincts. Once the mob is whittled down, he tells me, "Okay. I got this." Alrighty, sure. As we continue on, I see my energy is near full all of the time and that the tanker isn't taking much damage, so I start firing away anyways. Hey, I'm bored. He gets a annoyed that I keep utilizing more than two of my powers.

Needless to say, that was the only mission I ran with him. My Emp/Dark is NOT a healbot.

Also, he was pretty insistent on getting an answer to if I was a guy playing a girl or just a girl. What does it matter? If my character has boobies, she's a girl! Besides, how would he know if I lied to him? Interestingly enough, I have yet to meet a girl who had issues about someone else playing the opposite gender in a game.

Tea!

Helped my mom do some birthday and early Christmas shopping today. Got completely distracted by the tea shop in the mall. I always get distracted by tea shops and tea houses. "Free sample of jasmine pearls? Where?" It was that or the white chai and I'm not that big of a fan of chai. The jasmine pearls was good though. A little heavy on the honey to me, since I don't usually sweeten my tea, but good.

I would love to go back to the tea house in the Chinese Garden soon. The last time I went, there were musicians playing traditional Chinese instruments in there. It was a little stormy outside in the garden, but nice and warm in the tea house. My SO and I spent a few hours in there, just sipping tea and listening to the players. It was a pretty packed house, too. All of the tables on the bottom floor were full and it was busy on the upper floor too.

I've come to the conclusion that vampires are now what little girls graduate to after unicorns. It's hard to have romantic fantasies about a unicorn, but slap some fangs onto the love interest in an otherwise blah bodice-buster and it's gold!

Oh kitty, kitty
Why must you subject me to
WMD

Two waves of stink from one bomb, cat! Two waves! I think that violated the Geneva Convention or something! You are not a bioweapon production facility! You are a tiny little kitty-cat! You're supposed to purr and be a cute little rodent killer, not gas the house and make me gag! On the upside, if I ever become exposed to a stink weapon in the future, I should be rather resistant to it. I'm already acclimated to skunk.

On a totally different note, I started playing Guild Wars again today. There's something to be said about a game that doesn't have a monthly subscription fee. It's really easy to pick up and put down on whim. I also found out that my main character got a birthday present, so now she finally has a useless minipet. Isn't she special? Seeing the polar bears running around the North made me think about retiring her kitty. Kitty's pretty much retired as it is, since my Ranger is more of the "rain sharp pointy sticks of death on the enemy" type, than a beastmaster.

At least with Guild Wars, I can run around with a party of NPCs. Not the case with City of Heroes. Pinnacle is a very lonely server when I'm not playing with my SO. Yes, it's low lag because of that and there's less asshattery, but teaming whenever? Not so much. I started building characters on Justice. It's going to be a long road to get them up to the levels of my main Pinnacle character, but there's more people there at the odd hours.

Site of the day!

Joey - I found this site with a lot of Young Justice fanart. It also has a section for Impulse with a lot of Inertia in it. It's all in Japanese, though, so I couldn't read much of it.
