Blahdeblah
Feb. 25th, 2010 09:23 amCar is being repaired. So far, I'm impressed with how well Geico has been treating me. Then again, I don't hold a policy with them. I'm kinda waiting for everything to explode in a supernova of suckage, too. That might be because of how my previous insurance company treated me. Don't bother with State Farm. It took two months of fighting with them to resolve a claim I had last year. Half a tree had fallen on my last car and totaled it during a winter snowstorm. So, my opinion of insurance companies went from suspicious to hostile.
Cat is was incontinent this morning. At least now I know that her urine looks and smells normal without interference of clumping kitty litter. I force fed her a couple of tablespoons of chicken broth with a syringe. She doesn't have to starve through this.
Also, note to self: You can't live off of Earl Grey alone. It does not count as food.

Yeah, I guess that's how it is right now. The past couple of months have been a bit rough. A lot of struggle and expense just to end up with really bad news.
My cat went in for surgery to remove a squamous cell carcinoma from her lower eyelid last month. It was a bit of a scare and very expensive, but the prognosis was good and she was well on her way to recovery. Then last week, she got bloaty and constipated. Then she lost her appetite. I took her into the vet again and it seems like the bloat is fluid accumulating in the abdomen. Best guesses as to cause are organ failure or FIPV, which is a nasty little virus. Both are fatal. But I can't afford the ultrasound and tests used to further diagnose the problem. In any case, there's not much in the way for treatment for both possibilities. So, it's get a B12 shot and a stool softener for the constipation and make the cat as comfortable as I can.
On top of that, someone backed into my car and busted the taillight and dented the bumper. At least it was just that and I got the insurance info from the guy.
I need to get back to writing. Maybe it'll distract me enough. I doubt it.
I better be racking up the karma points.

Kitty TMI and some gaming
Nov. 11th, 2009 12:59 amOh kitty, kitty
Why must you subject me to
WMD
Two waves of stink from one bomb, cat! Two waves! I think that violated the Geneva Convention or something! You are not a bioweapon production facility! You are a tiny little kitty-cat! You're supposed to purr and be a cute little rodent killer, not gas the house and make me gag! On the upside, if I ever become exposed to a stink weapon in the future, I should be rather resistant to it. I'm already acclimated to skunk.
On a totally different note, I started playing Guild Wars again today. There's something to be said about a game that doesn't have a monthly subscription fee. It's really easy to pick up and put down on whim. I also found out that my main character got a birthday present, so now she finally has a useless minipet. Isn't she special? Seeing the polar bears running around the North made me think about retiring her kitty. Kitty's pretty much retired as it is, since my Ranger is more of the "rain sharp pointy sticks of death on the enemy" type, than a beastmaster.
At least with Guild Wars, I can run around with a party of NPCs. Not the case with City of Heroes. Pinnacle is a very lonely server when I'm not playing with my SO. Yes, it's low lag because of that and there's less asshattery, but teaming whenever? Not so much. I started building characters on Justice. It's going to be a long road to get them up to the levels of my main Pinnacle character, but there's more people there at the odd hours.
